6. melanie woodrow is live on the scene. what are police saying about the second suspect? >> they say the second suspect is armed and dangerous. right now they believe he has left the area. they spent hours searching here tonight after receiving information he had run toward a home. heavily armed officers from multiple agencies provided assistance in sunnyvale following an officer involved shooting. around 4:15, someone called police to report suspicious activity near this motel 6. when officers approached the vehicle, two suspects began running. an 18 year veteran shot one of the suspects pronounce dead on the scene, despite living saving measures. >> through the investigation, we fond a firearm. and an additional firearm in the backpack. >> one was a loaded high capacity magazine. the other a handgun. >> we don't know if the suspect

firefighters continue to go in and out of the danger zone while volunteers helped any one who needs it. growing theft at gas stations. criminals are hacking into gas pumps. take a look at security video from chicago gas station. the man is selling gas that he has hijacked from the station's pump. he is accused of filling up cars and then taking the money while the cashier's computer inside the station shows nothing. >> i noticinged gas was being pumped. nothing indicating on the register. instinct kicked in something is going on. several ways to do this. i believe the suspect in the case used remote device that would manipulate the components inside the pump. >> experts say criminals purchase a stolen master key to unlock the pump. and then enter the manufacturer's default code which turns off the station's computerized system of monitoring sales. those codes can sometimes be found on the internet. some gas stations are now
